Waving the White Flag!

Matthew 6:14-15: ‘For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly father will also forgive you, but If you do not forgive others their sins, your father will not forgive you yours’

So while doing my quiet time today I came across this scripture Matthew 6:5-18 and although I have read this chapter a couple of times, just never as well as I should have in the first place. Do you ever get this feeling where you watch a movie or even read a book?, then some time later you watch the movie again or read the book again and you find out that you somehow missed some parts, or you see or read something new, it was exactly like that. No matter how much you watch something or read it, this always happens.

At first when I read this, I learnt how to pray believe it or not, some of you may think “WHAT, I thought as a Christian you are supposed to know how to pray, I mean it should be in the Christian guide book 101 right?.” Yes I learnt how to pray properly, as you advance in your walk with God, you realise ‘praise Jesus, I bind satan’ prayers are simply not enough anymore and well I don’t think there is a guide book as famous, and as in details as the bible and it’s for all stages so you know!

MATTEW 6:14-15: ‘For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly father will also forgive you, but If you do not forgive others their sins, your father will not forgive you yours.’ It hit me! I have carried so much crappy baggage upon myself, which wasn’t even mine to carry in the first place! In the bible, God said ‘Come, and I shall give you rest’ Well that’s what I’m trying to do; anyways it finally hit me; the meaning behind that particular scripture and how to apply it to me. Why carry someone else’s baggage? Why go through all that just to play the victim? I’m not the only one who’s been bullied, attacked with words that hurt so much, physically battles!

Guess what I’m just trying to say is that; I AM FINALLY FREE! I feel free I’m happy! In the short space of time I took to kneel before God, Talked to him and realise that there’s no point in running the other way when I see my past, walking right past me! It’s ain’t my problem anymore! Do you understand what I mean? The moral of all this is just SURRENDER! Trust me it’s a lot easier than hauling all that mess with you, that baggage taints you, It’s honestly that simple, you just got to be willing to let it go.

If you can’t forgive others, why should God forgive you – think about it, and find it in your heart to forgive!

I did!
